From Allaray Lincoln Stud and Jurambula Creative Fibres (NSW) comes this Heritage / Rare Breed wool in combed top/sliver form. Ready to spin and or dye, the resultant yarn would make an ideal weaving warp to work up into homewares and strong hardwearing fabrics. You could also spin to make market bags and utilitarian objects.
The Lincoln breed produces such a strong heavy wool that its fleece typically weighs 5-7kg. Considered a "long wool" breed, it's staple length can be 18-25cm long. Is is wavy and lustrous and typically is 38-40 microns so this is a very strong coarse fibre. Although it can have grey, black and even moorit, it is typically a white sheep in Australia.
