The Wanstead Park English Leicester flock is registered with the ASSBA. They live in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania. As a heritage Rare Breed, there are limited numbers left in Australia. EL wool is prized for its wonderful lustre.
This 100g pack of selected locks is from a young animal - a young lamb of around 8 -12 months of age. This is it's first shearing. Soft, lustrous and showing plenty of the characteristic curl.
These staples have been hand selected and are ideal for felting, lock spinning, dolls' hair, this wool will scour to a brilliant shiny white and slurp up dye with gusto.
STUD BOOK FLEECE DESCRIPTION : Dense, free, long, even and highly lustrous; lock medium width, showing small, well-defined wave or crimp from skin to tip, belly well covered. Approx, 32-38 micron.
