The Wanstead Park English Leicester flock is registered with the ASSBA. They live in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania. As a heritage Rare Breed, there are limited numbers left in Australia. Their wool is prized for its wonderful lustre.
This 100g pack of selected locks is from a young animal - the one in the pic - a wether lamb of around 8 months of age. This is it's first shearing. Soft, lustrous and showing plenty of the characteristic curl. 4 PACKS REMAINING.
These staples have been hand selected and are ideal for felting, lock spinning, dolls' hair, this wool will scour to a brilliant shiny white and slurp up dye with gusto.
STUD BOOK FLEECE DESCRIPTION : Dense, free, long, even and highly lustrous; lock medium width, showing small, well-defined wave or crimp from skin to tip, belly well covered. Approx, 32-38 micron.
